


What is glamping?
- Glamping is a fusion of the words "glamorous" and "camping". It is intended to describe a style of accommodation that has amenities that are generally not associated with traditional camping. At Little Elephant Camp we understand that many people want to experience sleeping under canvas in the African bush but don't want all the hassle of setting up tents, rolling out beds and not having access to toilet and shower facilities. Little Elephant Camp provides guests with the experience of sleeping under canvas without sacrificing luxury.
Do you have hot showers and flushing toilets?
- Yes, we do. Each en-suite bathroom is very spacious with a flushing toilet and a hot water outdoor stargazer shower.
Do I need to bring linens, towels or pillows?
- No, we provide our guests with quality linens, towels and pillows.
What kind of kitchen do you provide?
- We provide you with your own private kitchen tent at your glamping camp. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes all plates, bowls, pots, pans, serving bowls, utensils, serving utensils, BBQ utensils, coffee press, kettle, stove, fridge and more.
Is there a stove?
- Yes. We provide a two burner gas stove in each kitchen.
Is there cooking gas?
- Yes. We provide cooking gas for the stove.
Is coffee or tea or anything else provided?
- Yes. In each kitchen, we provide a kettle for boiling water and a coffee press for making coffee. We also provide you with some freshly ground coffee, tea bags, sugar and milk along with salt, pepper, chilli powder and sunflower oil.
Do you provide a fridge to keep my food cold?
- Yes. All of our glamping camps have a fridge in the kitchen so that you can keep your food and drinks cold.
Do you sell food and drinks at Little Elephant Camp?
- Food is available on pre-order. You can order deliciously seasoned steaks and marinated chicken ready for the grill, pre-prepared meals that can be cooked/heated on the stove and breakfast baskets. On confirmation of booking, guests will be sent a link to Little Elephant Camp's online shop where you can place your orders. At the camp, we sell a variety of cold drinks such as soda, beer, water and bottles of dry red and dry white wine. Alternatively, guests can self cater and bring their own meals to prepare during their stay.
Do you have a BBQ?
- Yes. Each glamping camp has its own BBQ as well as all the BBQ utensils that you'll need to grill.
Do I need to bring charcoal and firewood?
- No. We provide guests with charcoal and firewood.
What should I bring?
- We recommend bringing your binoculars and a good flashlight/torch, some warmer clothes for cool evenings, sunscreen, a hat and a sense of adventure.
Is there mobile phone network?
- Yes. All the major telephone networks work at Little Elephant Camp.
Is there WiFi?
- No. We're a bush camp and encourage people to limit their screen time and fully enjoy the sights and sounds that bush life has to offer.
Do I have to pay park entrance fees when I stay at Little Elephant Camp?
- No. Little Elephant Camp is situated directly on the boundary of the park, but not "in" the park. Park fees are payable only if and when you decide to enter the national park.
How far away are the park gates?
- The Kasenyi Gate is the entrance into the east side of the park and is the gateway to the Kasenyi Plains, a popular area for game drives to sight game including lion and leopard and is 20 kilometres from the camp (17-minute drive).
Do you have a swimming pool?
- No.
Do you have a campsite where I can put my own tent?
- No.
What animals can I see in and around the camp?
- As Little Elephant Camp is on the boundary of the park and there is no fence, animals are free to roam in and out and they do. The most common animals that we see at the camp are Ugandan Kob, Waterbuck, Bushbuck, Warthogs, Elephants and numerous species of birds.
Do you allow day visitors?
- No, our facilities are for overnight guests only.
